A hooded woman gives Mira an unsigned letter about Ilith and tells her to flee on the salt barge.

The Gull Gate bell rings the closing of Port Hallow harbour.

The Patience leaves the Weir landing carrying Mira Osk, Tobin Reed and Seren of Esk.

Seren of Esk drains Port Hallow harbour by Tidecalling; Varr Dane's cutter is wrecked at the Gull Gate.

Heads are counted aboard the Patience: Tobin Reed, who went overboard, is back aboard; Mira Osk sees a silver hook in Pell's collar.
