Esk is a group of northern islands, the home of Seren of Esk. Its people are said to be able to call the tide.

According to Tobin Reed's gran, Esk folk can call the tide; Seren confirms that Tidecalling is real. Esk keeps its own account of the fall of Ilith: "the city drowned itself".
